Building Virtual Worlds

Building virtual worlds is the foundation course for Entertainment Technology major student. In this 4 month course, a round of rotational five-person team of interdisciplinary collaborate together in 2 weeks to create story telling experiences including game interaction and mechanics utilizing Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality. 
My main role as 3D artist and producer is to b
uild game asset by 3D modeling, rigging, texturing, animation and practice daily scrum in order to have better team scheduling and assist team to communicate for team vision.
Below are 4 different projects: Assemble, Sakura, Blender Friender, Run Corgi run

Assemble

Team size : 5 
​Device: Oculus + Touch
Work delivered: Bedroom environment deign and furniture modeling and texturing, Set Dressing in Unity
Modeling tool: Maya
Texturing software: Substance Painter

Project introduction: The user in the VR world will be experiencing the story of a Ballerina just moved out from home and started her new life in a new city. The user will unpack the items from the box which triggered different memories and flashbacks of emotions.

Set dressing Note: We want to create a ballerina's room and in order to show that the main character has just moved in to the apartment, we kept the essential's object for ballet dancer, however, the room is rather empty and seems like newly moved in.

Sakura

​Team size : 5 
​Device: Meta II
Work delivered: Stone god, Torii, Stones, Japanese garden plants modeling, texturing, rigging and animation
Modeling tool: Maya

Project introduction: The user in the AR world has the ability to freely explore the world. The world let the user to user calligraphy pen to draw the garden landscape by themselves and following with special sound effects.

Blender Friender

​Team size : 5 
​Device: Makey Makey + Oculus Rift
Work delivered: Juice shop set dressing (modeling, texturing, rendering)
Modeling tool: Maya

Project introduction: A 2 player game where one sends fruits through Makey Makey to the other who cuts and blends the fruits inside the blender through Oculus Rift.
PLAYER 1: Is the Juice Master who has to touch a fruit when it appears on the belt to add it to the blender and when instructed add water to blender
PLAYER 2: Will play the VR Blender who has to cut the fruit & blend the fruits when water is added

This is a project creating interesting connection experience for virtual reality world and physical world.

Run Corgi Run

Team size : 5 
​Device: HTC Vive II
Work delivered: Forest landscape, house, Giant's feet rigging and animation
Modeling tool: Maya
​
Project introduction: Utilizing the VR world characteristics, the user will have the feeling of fear of height when experiencing the world. The user has to cross a bridge between two cliffs and rescue corgi back home.
